  • November 15 – December 15
    Monday – Friday: Hot Chocolate Sparrow: YOU donate peanut butter, chili, beef stew, tuna or cooking oil (only these items, please!) for Lower Cape Outreach Council, and WE donate to you – half off your coffee/espresso drink.

  • November 18 –December 11
    Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol at the Academy of Performing Arts
    8 pm Thursdays – Saturdays;
    2 pm Sundays. Tickets $20. A charming four-person play which redeems Jacob Marley, who in the process redeems old Scrooge himself.

  • November 21 through end of December
    Coastal Craft Gallery’s 2nd Annual Ornament Show Fundraiser. Each artist picks a charity to whom he/she will donate a percentage of his/her ornament sales.

  • November 25 – December 18
    Fridays and Saturdays: Wine Tastings at Main Street Wine & Gourmet: Free of charge to public (21 and over) and offering promotional pricing on featured products – wine, beer and food!

  • November 26 - December 31
    Seaside Winter Holiday Es-CAPE - Let the Orleans Waterfront Inn be your home away from home for the holidays. The Inn will be fully decorated in holiday spendor with lots of town activities and great shopping within easy walking distance. Includes: 2 night stay in a waterfront guest suite, $100 dining credit to the Orleans Inn Waterfront Restaurant (open weekends), breakfast each morning, and bottle of champagne. ($650 plus tax).
  • November 27 – December 3
    Visit Pleasant Bay Trading Company, 80-82 Route 6A, Orleans and take home a free ornament!

    Benefit Bead of the Month by My Cape My Town at Snow’s Home & Garden, 22 Main Street, Orleans: $10 of every sale benefits the Lower Cape Outreach Council.

    Old-Fashioned Christmas Tree Sale at Nauset Farms, Main St., East Orleans. Buy your freshly cut local tree and wreath and place your order for Christmas dinners and pies!



 

Saturday, November 19

  • 9 am – 3 pm: Annual Church of the Holy Spirit Christmas Sale. This annual holiday happening is always popular, and offers unique knitting and fine handcrafted aluminum from the Church’s Fine Craft Guilds. In addition to a rather elegant White Elephant room, you’ll find a variety of fine artists and craft vendors, and the unusual creations on display include dolls, jewelry, pottery, fabric items and more. The sale is known for its “Cookie Walk,” home-made jams and jellies, and sliced-on-the-spot orders from the “Very Voluminous Slab” of Vermont Cabot cheese. A chowder luncheon is available. Corner Rt. 28/Monument Road, Orleans.

  • 11 am – 2 pm: Snow’s Home & Garden hosts Cutlery 101 by Zwilling J.A. Henckels Sales Rep, Ryan Joy. Benefit Bead of the Month by My Cape My Town: $10 of every sale benefits Nauset Regional School Programs.

Friday, November 25

  • 10 am – 4 pm: 33rd Annual Church of the Holy Spirit Holiday Antiques Show & Sale. Held every year on the weekend after Thanksgiving, the Annual Antiques Show and Sale at the Church of the Holy Spirit features dealers from all over New England. You’ll find  a wide range of choice antiques on display and for sale, including 18th and 19th century furniture, nautical items, quilts, Staffordshire china, ironstone, early American pattern glass, jewelry, Americana, brass candlesticks, vintage post cards, chocolate and ice cream moulds, primitives, textiles, folk and fine art. Corner Rt. 28/Monument Road, Orleans.

  • 3:00 pm: Back by Popular Demand! Treat yourself and a friend to a holiday tea at Bethany Guest House, overlooking Rock Harbor in Orleans. Enjoy an afternoon with a delicious assortment of savory sandwiches, a choice of fine teas, and a sumptuous dessert selection. Live chamber music, fine china, silver, crystal, and linen complete this unforgettable experience. $18 per person.   • 8 am - 10 am: Join Mrs. Claus at the Pancake Breakfast at Orleans Yacht Club; $5 adults;
    $3 kids (12 and under)

  • 10 am: Santa arrives by boat at the Orleans Yacht Club and is escorted to Snow’s Home & Garden, 22 Main Street, Orleans, where he will meet the children until 12:30 pm. Giving Tree (for Homeless Prevention Council) names arrive at Snow’s for gift giving.

  • 1 pm: Snow Library’s Family Nutcracker Celebration in collaboration with the Academy of Performing Arts and Cape Cod Ballet Theatre. The story of the Nutcracker will be highlighted with dance excerpts performed by local dancers. Following the performance, the dancers will lead a mini-movement lesson. FREE admission!

  • 1 – 4 pm:  Nauset Model Railroad Club Open House, 180 Route 6A, Orleans.

  • 5:00 pm: The stroll kicks off and proceeds to the Village Green for the annual tree lighting.

  • After the stroll: Warm up with complimentary clam chowder at the United Methodist Church right across the street

  • 5:15 pm: Community of Jesus Service of Advent Lessons and Carols. The Church of the Transfiguration invites you to join them in preparing for Christmas. This candle-lit service opens the season of Advent, with Scripture readings, prayers, and music sung by Gloriae Dei Cantores.  Doors open one hour prior to service.

Sunday, November 27

  • 10 am Service: Church of the Holy Spirit Giving Tree Program. All are welcome to join the Giving Tree Program and to attend the Children’s Giving Tree Play presented at the 10:00 a.m. service at the Church of the Holy Spirit. The giving campaign is sponsored by the Church School students and fulfills requests from children in need for distribution by Lower Cape social service organizations.   • 11:15 am: Advent Wreath Making at Church of the Holy Spirit. Light your way to Christmas Day. Bring your greenery to share . All are welcome at the event sponsored by the Church School of the Church of the Holy Spirit, and candles, ribbons and wreath forms are provided for a small good will offering. Tour the beautifully renovated Victorian sea captain’s mansion built in star1875 by Aaron Snow. Also check out the holiday Es-Cape Stay Package. The Inn is fully decorated for Christmas.

  • 3 pm (organ prelude 2:00) Community of Jesus Service of Advent Lessons and Carols.   • 9 am – 4 pm: White’s Lane Winter Wonderland. Visit 33 White’s Lane to learn about the 2008-2011 Terrapin Turtle habitat restoration, and/or work side-by-side with AmeriCorps members removing invasive species. Work at your own pace and time and take home bittersweet to decorate holiday wreaths.

  • 12 noon – 2 pm: Pet Photos with Santa at Agway of Orleans. Bring the kids and your furry friends to have their photos taken with Santa. Volunteers from the Animal Rescue League in Brewster will be taking the photos. Your $5 donation per picture will directly benefit the pets at the Brewster Animal Rescue League. Enjoy some cookies and warm cider while you pick out your Christmas tree and have photos taken with Santa.

  • 1 – 4 pm:  Nauset Model Railroad Club Open House, 180 Route 6A, Orleans.

  • 1 pm on: Take a break from the holiday madness and stop by Nauset Marine for some afternoon refreshments.

  • 2 – 5 pm: Local Colour Resale Boutique: Enjoy refreshments and 20% off all merchandise!

  • 3 pm: Raffle Drawing at Kid & Kaboodle, 115 Route 6A, Orleans!

  • 4 pm: Raffle Drawing at SAVVY ON MAIN, 50 Main Street, Orleans.

  • 3 pm: Raffle Drawing at Kid & Kaboodle, 115 Route 6A, Orleans!

  • 4:30 pm: Children’s Christmas Pageant and Service at Church of the Holy Spirit. All are welcome at the nativity celebration. On arrival, children who wish to join the procession are presented with golden stars which they place at the crèche at the end of the pageant. The Nativity Program at the Church of the Holy Spirit is renowned for its exceptional collection of costumes by noted designer Robin McLaughlin, who also creates for the Harwich Junior Theater and Cape Repertory Theatre. A winged dove joins the requisite donkeys, cows, and sheep, and a gloriously robed Mary greets an especially charming collection of angels and shepherds.

  • 5 pm: Christmas Eve Family Service at The Federated Church of Orleans, 162 Main Street,
    East Orleans.

  • 8 pm: Traditional Christmas Eve Worship with special music, at The Federated Church of Orleans, 162 Main Street, East Orleans.
